Trapped

Acceptance just flew away.

Accompanied two magpies as
they took off over gardens,
into distant fields now green again,
able to breath from welcome thaw.

I opened the door,
saw the grass,
sensed a sharp edged wind
as loving as it was harsh,
brush against a pale
complaisant sun.

And I wanted to run again.

    There’s music in this.
I was reading your moving book of poems in bed last night. I eventually switched off the light and had 8 hours of dreamless, solid slumber. Thank you, Christine.

      Thank you Lea.

Yes it feels a little bit sad right now. And I know I cant have my old life back and the acceptance on that front is a work in progress. But I do still have a life and a good one. That knowledge is taking its place centre stage again after a couple of negative weeks.

But watch out when that mobility scooter Rtives! Lol 🙂

      Lots of love

This is a melancholy beauty, Christine, and reminds me of when we finally entered the “acceptance” stage about our daughter…it took many tears to get there, but we made it…sending love and hugs, HBL xo

      Thank you Lauren,

Your positivity surrounding your current struggle shines through all your writing. We can all help each other on here, WP, that is, and you certainly give me inspiration to stay positive, so thank you. I am blessed that our paths crossed, especially the timing of it. Some things happen for reasons that I don’t think we will ever be able to understand, other than it is nothing to do with our plans for ourselves. Something seems to intervene to help us through.

      HBL ❤ xxx
