Out Now: Dancing in the Rain

I am pleased to announce the publication of my poetry book, Dancing in the Rain. A huge thank you to the publisher, Bennison Books, who have guided and encouraged me very patiently along this wonderful journey.; I have learned so much. As I have mentioned before, all profits from the sale of the book will go to The Multiple Sclerosis  Trust.

Dancing in the Rain is available at Amazon UK and Amazon.com. The link to Amazon  is on the cover picture below.

Chris Moran found poetry and poetry found her. She recovered from alcoholism only to be faced with a long-delayed diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, experiences documented in her first volume of poetry with honesty, humility and humour.

She doesn’t deny the sadnesses in life, and acknowledges with a clear eye the despair that can sometimes take us unawares, but she is always pulled towards joy, and gently takes the reader with her.

She is also a bold experimenter, and here we find a sonnet about bees, a villanelle about approaching spring (the poet’s favourite time of  year), and haiku about her unborn grandchildren:

Tiny seed planted
germination soon in place
fruit of the autumn.

So good to hear you have finally become an author of your own book of poetry Christine – well done!!!♥ I will definitely buy a copy of your book as your poetry is always so good, and I relate to it in such a good way. I just have to open an Amazon account – something I’ve been meaning to do for years! 😀 My ever so useful brother usually orders books for me when he puts in an order for his own, but I need get my own account hopefully this will be the deciding point to do that.

Now that it’s up on Amazon would you still like me to put in my sidebar as an advert? I don’t know if any of the other authors got much out of their books shown in the sidebar and posts, I never asked. But there were about one or two clicks each week on those books, so it certainly created some interest. Anyway, just let me know and I’ll get to work on it.

I love the title by the way ‘Dancing In The Rain’ beautiful! I hope it sells millions!!! 😀

Thanks very much Suzy! Yes please, it would be much appreciated if you could share it on your sidebar. You never know, even if it attracts just one person, it’s worth it. Thank you!

I’m trying to come up with another option for selling as well as Amazon in case people want one and haven’t access to Amazon. But this is work in progress and something I didn’t think of before! 😊 xxx

Well, I sat down and read it cover to cover. It’s such a delight to see the poems together in a book, giving an even richer experience of your wonderful journey. You should be very proud of this accomplishment Christine. Dancing In The Rain is going up onthe poetry bookshelf where my special books live, to be taken down again and again whenever I want to be reminded of the kind of courage and wisdom it contains. Bravissimo! ❤

Thank you Cynthia! I’m so pleased it arrived and you are enjoying it!

It’s been a tough ride over the years, leading eventually to a diagnosis I was actually relieved to have. Many periods of frustration, fear and anguish. It feels good finally to let it all fly off in a book, very therapeutic 😊

Received my copy today,Christine, and it looks really nice. I was showing it to one of my co-workers and she was very impressed … started reading some of your poems and loved them. She is going to purchase a copy to give to a hospice nearby called Crossroads House (her mother spent her last days there just a couple of months ago). She says they often read poetry and other writing out loud to the residents there and thought your book would be a perfect edition to their library. So glad you saw this venture to completion. XO ❤

Thank you Diane! How wonderful to think my book will be shared in a hospice; that in itself makes the whole project worthwhile. Thank you for creating some ripple effects. And of course, again, thank you for your very valuable input. Everyone simply loves the cover.

Just think, when I first mentioned the cover to you and asked if you would be happy to design it, this was way back last July when I was going full steam ahead to self publish. Then you mentioned Bennison Books and I haven’t looked back. I never dreamed of anything like this; it’s all just wonderful.,

Lots of love and hugs ❤️ Xxx

Thank you so much Harula both for your lovely comment and or purchasing my book; it’s so very much appreciated.

Yes I do feel it’s quite an achievement particularly as I didn’t start writing poetry until 2011. But I know without a doubt it wouldn’t have happened without the support and encouragement of all my blogging friends. So a huge thank you to you! love and hugs xxx
