Who cares
about avoiding cliché?
Your presence is like
a magic patch of sunshine
on grey November days.
When your smile
peeps round the door
there is a bright light and
my fears know that for now
they are beaten;
you are the breath of fresh air
that I crave.
And today
when you toddled
full length of the room,
successfully for the first time,
bearing a gift especially for me –
two stickle bricks in a pan –
I knew that this was the start
of something big.

They are a treasure! I am so happy for you. How wonderful. However, they are indeed fortunate to have such a special grandma! Those cuddles and stories are a wise investment and something they will always have and treasure.

Aw thank you Lea 😊. I feel blessed to have the chance to cuddle them all and have cosy reading times just like I did with my own children. Storytime was and still is my favourite pastime! 😊. And on Friday we are to get a visit from our aon with one of his three children for the weekend. Should be fun! 😊 xxx

Ahhh, so sweet! And the two stickle bricks in a pan just got me…is that something in my eye? The start of something big indeed, especially with a regal name like Solomon:-) How precious to be present to share that moment with him, and how kind of you to share it with us:-) Love and hugs, H xxx

Im sure it will happen for you! We thought it was never going to be and then suddenly they were popping up all over! They are all 5 and under And when we are altogether as we will be for New Year it is mayhem and madness! 😊. We dont see three of them all that much as they live in Ireland although they try to come over to England to stay with us as much as they can; the other two, little Solomon in the poem, and his brother Theodore (4), live about 30 minutes drive away which is lovely and we look after them one day a week while mum is at work.I love it; they keep me going 😊 xx

She is adorable and the verse as genuine and beautiful as ever. It is exactly a week since I became a Grandfather. Life being what it is, my daughter lives a four hour drive away but I am booked to go and say hello to the little man in two weeks time, and to say I am looking forward to it, does not really cover it
